Do you need a good story to tell for your website or press kit? An amazing anecdote to incorporate into a fundraising pitch? Are you looking to find inspiration for you next collection?
In this fun, two hour-long workshop, I’ll take designers through the storytelling process with an eye towards functionality. Through a series of improvisation, writing, and pitching exercises, students will have the opportunity to workshop individual stories to take back to the sketchbook or the showroom.
By the end of the workshop, designers will have at least two personal stories to incorporate into their marketing materials, plus an understanding of how to harness the creative power of storytelling in everyday life.
About The Instructor
Andrew Linderman is a writer and storyteller based in Brooklyn, NY. He teaches storytelling with the Brooklyn Brainery and The Moth and is the executive producer of Local Stories, a monthly storytelling series featuring New York’s best writers, performers and comedians. Prior to his work in storytelling, Andrew trained as an actor and improviser at the Upright Citizens Brigade and the Atlantic Theater Company in New York City. Andrew is also a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and has worked as a city planner, a radio DJ and an economist. He has lots of stories to tell, but promises never to tell them in the third person.
